hahha...

I think this is relevent enuf for this occassion..

If you plan to travel back to your hometown or anywhere else for holidays etc..please take extra caution on B- roads. The sub-urban roads' speed limit is not exactly those in PJ or KL. They are there for a good reason *for whoeever.. so follow strictly..
In Ipoh along Jln.Tambun, near about the Istana Area, the speed limit the whole way is 70kmph only !! And it is a speed-trap prone area.
On the other side near the MB and along the horse race course road,it is 7okmph as well. And speed-trap prone as well.
Near Pengkalan and along Jln.Pasir pinji, the speed limit is 50KMPH !! * YUP, you may get down and push your car along..just make sure one-man power enuf..otherwise, you over break the limit and get a ticket..

Well, anyway it is always a good fortune for not being booked for just 70kmph !..hahhaa... sorry..sorry..does not mean you should speed more..NO. Please follow the speed limits ya..

Have a Good CNY ahead and Happy Holidays to all..

Motorists travelling on 17 highways in Peninsular Malaysia during the Chinese New Year holidays will get discounts on toll charges ranging from 5% - 20%, with one highway concessionaire offering free passage between 11:30 pm and 4:30 am. To enjoy the discounts on the other highways, travel time will have to be very late at night or in the early hours of the next day.

The problem with getting people to drive on the highways between 11.30pm - 4.30am is that for most inhabitants in Boleh Land, this will be the time where their body clock tells them it's sleep time. And coupled with the lower speed limits, the tendency to fall asleep at the wheel is greater

Remember the family of 5 who recently perished when their 1-month old BMW 5 series crashed into a stationary trailer and exploded upon impact under the lorry at 1.20am? And that it happend even after the lorry driver had placed warning cones to alert drivers. The impact was so great that the BMW's engine was found a few meters away from the crash scene. Shows the driver of the car may be asleep when the crash took place.

This is a wrong message the govt is putting out as a way to ease congestions on the highway during the festivities. Instead, they should look at more feasible alternatives to alleviate the problem than jeapordise safety

Anyway, to all those celebrating this coming festivities, I wish you all a Happy Chinese New Year! Please drive with extra care during this period and have a great and joyous celebration with your loved ones

wow...as the CNY draws near..the volume of heavy vehicles plying all major roads/highways have increased as well..this is perhaps in anticipation of the heavy vehicle ban imposed yearly by the authorities during festive seasons to ease the traffic a bit.

Well, don frets...it will getting easier on the road this couple of days..
Folks, do check in from time to time..the web will still be man-ed by me from the silver state

Updates.. 13/2/10

Just got back this morning..at about 4.35am..We started our journey about 1.00am from Subang Toll.. Yup, it took us that long to reach Ipoh, which normally take 1.35hours or 45mins for razman!! hahah..
The highway was packed real tight at earlier near midnight..but eases up by 1am. However it was short-lived 20 mins into the drive..a convoy of endless cars crawling at 70kmph..
A relieve and confusion occurs at Behrang where traffic police apparently set up a mini camp just after R&R. We thought that was the cause of the jam. But later we realised that it was there to encourage motorist to use the emergency lane!! yup, no joke.
Some cars used it, some and mostly were confused by the electronic board "guna lorong kecemasan" ... nobody dared to use it and kept to their normal lanes obediently.
But there are some who did. Speeding away (probably with a smirk on their face)..The use-the-emergency lane privilege extends to Bidor where another sign says "guna lorong kecemasan tamat!"... okay, I did read the first 3 words, but did not see the last word. So off merrily to the emergency lane and cruises on ahead, with a smirk on my face..hahaha
Then a call from my bro saying that the signs said this privilege "tamat" about 10km ago .. wahta!!
So, lawfully I sweep back to the crawling lane for the rest of an uneventful and dull journey back to Ipoh..

Well folks, its 11am now, and I came to understand that the highway is still jammed packed with cars. I was informed that a friend travelled since 4am this morning, heading back to Alor Setar..and he is now just reach the Ipoh exit.

absolutely crazy..and looks like with every passing years, the traffic seems to increase by the tens of folds...

weather is excruciating hot here..about 41.5 degrees celcius hot.
This heat wave was said to be the highest by far.

Got news that folks going up to the Cameron Highlands are diverted away becos of massive grid lock jam up there. So, if you are planning to go, please check with the local police. Only folks with reservation of hotel rooms there is allowed to go up.
My bro-in law just came down from CH, and it was a breeze indeed until when they reached Tapah. Another gridlock jam going thru the tolls' gates.
Well, hope the night's journey will be smooth now...

took a late drive back to KL...and its pretty smooth along the way...
I must say that the MyVees drivers are pretty titanium-balled folks..Taking on the likes of mercs and camrys..tail to grill style..I have seen a lot of unnerving maneuvers and overtaking that are both dangerous and stupid by these drivers who seems to have no fear and does not mind coming butt to grill "confrontations".

Anyway, still heard on the news and friends that the highway is still packed with cars coming up to KL and vice versa. So, if you decide to take a drive to anywhere, don't eat too much, but have plenty of patience. hhahahaa
Happy holidays..
