Well, here is what happened.
I am a Marketing and Product Development Manager of an American based company here in Malaysia. Although I am head of the marketing team and Product Development team I run both shows alone since the need for new man power has been locked by our American parent and my need for new staffs has been a No No. For two years I've helped built the business by 10% and 15% doing things people have not done like building grassroots captains, creating activities, publicity, and new products. We even managed to break records when I decided to create a product that was sold out nationwide within 2 days and this is for 2 shipments for many thousands of these items per shipment. Never has a company in my industry seen high sales during the months of November & December. Well, we did in 2009.
Today my boss gave me added responsibility since my other boss (I have 2 Directors to whom I report to) decided to give up running that department of which she clearly could not handle. So now I have given (in this case, forced upon) the responsibility to revamp the Spare-Parts and Service Department which is basically a start-up since I'll be changing the entire thing and how it is being run. All these with only 1 staff and no one else as all forms of hiring have been frozen.
No doubt I love the challenge of starting up such things but running 3 departments, 2 of each I run alone, and 1 with only 1 staff of which will probably be worked to death knowing how service and spare-parts are I finally think it is time to move on. Oh.... all these without increment in my salary because our parent and bigger brother are not doing well. I'll help him set it up because he is not only my boss but my friend as well. But I intend to live longer and not work myself to death not spending enough time with my family & my Audi
