WTB: Spare 19' Rim

Postby gnathan » Wed Jan 06, 2010 1:49 pm

Hi guys,

I am looking to buy a spare 19' rim for my A6 C5 - offset 35.

I am presently running 235/35 tyres on my 19 inch rims - but a bit worried if something goes wrong when I am driving,
especially as I am a fan of driving holidays.

Rim doesn't have to be branded or fancy - I am basically looking for a cheap emergency spare that will fit.

thanks,
Nathan

assuming your brakes are the same, why not just use the spare that you have ?
if the spare rim can't fit the aftermarket front brakes, take out the rear, place spare there, and move the rear wheel to the front.

If you see a crazy A6 on the road, that's me!

The spare that I have is the original 15 inch rims that came with the car :( - I don't think that would work in an emergency.....would it?

It will still work because the rolling diameter is almost the same as your 19's. The only point that must be noted is that you must keep your speed low, below 80 km/h if I'm not mistaken and no prolonged usage in that configuration.
